Treatments - What to Expect

When you arrive for your first Acupuncture treatment, I ask that you arrive 15 minutes early in order to fill out the required intake forms.  Please make sure to wear or bring loose fitting clothing (shorts and tank top are fine).  After your intake forms are filled out, we begin the intake process where I will take a look at your tongue and check your pulses (Chinese Medicine diagnosis is based on your body's reflection of itself in your tongue and pulse quality).  We begin treatment by inserting thin, sterile, single use stainless steel needles into specific Acupuncture points.  Depending on your condition, we may also use moxibustion, which is used to warm, clear a channel and reduce inflammation, and cupping, which uses glass cups as suction on the skin in order to bring stagnant blood to the surface and remove toxins.  After a cupping treatment, its recommended that you not shower for 24 hours and keep the area covered and protected from wind, cold and rain.  An Acupuncture treatment typically lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Nicole provides a comfortable, safe environment where all women are supported.  Shehas successfully treated many women for Fertility, Prenatal Acupuncture, Post Partum, is certified in Prenatal Yoga and is a DONA trained Doula.  Within treatments for women's health, we offer Labor Preparation Treatment 1 week prior to your due date, and Prebirth Acupuncture.  PreBirth Acupuncture are a set of four treatments given during the typical last four weeks of pregnancy (36-40 weeks).  There have been studies showing that pregnant women who have PreBirth Acupuncture treatments have a lowered bishop score and a faster labor time.  Women, especially during pregnancy, wish to take less over the counter medications, like painkillers for headaches and nausea medications.   Nicole is grateful to be able to provide a safe alternative for conditions such as headaches, anxiety, nausea, morning sickness,  back pain, constipation and sinus congestion.  Nicole has taken the following classes with amazing women who are working in the women's health acupuncture field.
